Collected by tux today, and pretty happy with the outcome! And Kudos to Mr Wong of Dickson Tailor, he loaned me a couple of neckwear for free. Whether I do use them or not .. well... haha. I don't really fancy looking like some French aristocrat in the 1700s.

Yx went for her second fitting today, they really did work through the night!! And will still, today. She also collected her dance shoes. Mine are almost beyond rescue.

This post is intentionally cryptic, but this is such a moment and revelation that I simply have to put it down. Found a means to allay some of my fears, and did so without a minute of hesitation once it became available. I'm now a very happy person. I have much to be grateful for. Call it divine intervention, overvalued belief, or simply just paranoia, but I do believe that my prayers have been answered.

Things are moving so quickly, we hardly have time to breathe.

We finally had the first fitting of Yx's dresses yesterday! OMG Yap is really cutting it very fine .. our photoshoot is this Fri, and I think they will end up working through the night to get it done in time. Oh well - that's how they usually work, I think. When we were there, the 3 of them were busy doing finishing touches to a really labour-intensive dress which was to be collected in 2 days' time. I must say though, that I was really impressed with just how talented Yap is.

Also, we met up with our photographer on Sunday. Wilson's coordinating a collaboration effort between us, him and a business, so that all of us can get something out of our photoshoot. It's scheduled to be this Friday, so I've also roped in my sis who happens not to have classes on Fri to help out for a small portion of it.

Met with videographer this evening.

And juggling this with new commitments at work, Yx's trying to submit her thesis, and we're also having to contend with the new place.

OMG. Really up to our necks.

凝視著前方陰霾,穩踏著幻想中的行程;
終於認可了事實始終是無法描繪的荒凉。
所以有時候也必需 停下腳步來衡量一下自己-
是不是多餘地刻薄自餒。
有些事也只好學著放得開,放得下;
不能不斷地譴責,指責。
每天都接觸著好多不同的人,對他人的憂愁也理解了許多
相比之下該明白自己始終是處於美好處境中。
不能再自殘了。

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

It's starting to get annoying.

It's going to be heck of a busy week, and next month's going to be even worse I think. Regarding the house, we've got our wash basin settled today. It ain't cheap, but it's what we wanted! Then again, I'd rather spend a bit more dough on something that's probably going to be semi-permanent, rather than be unhappy about it for years to come. We're left with choosing the tap mixer, shower module, and fridge - then later on, the veranda woodwork, cloth canopy and my plant racks. And I think that's about it? Moving is such a PITA.

Wedding-wise I think (and hope!) we're more of less on track. I've finally gone down to the tailor's to get some decent skin on myself, and once again I justified this purchase by convincing myself that it'll come in handy some day. Much like the hoard of miscellaneous objects I have stowed away in dark, dank corners. =p

We're going to do a dance item for the wedding night, so now is choreography time. I hate choreography. It's a lot more work than just learning steps or practicing, and it's like writing a CV - you're never completely satisfied with it! Yx had been really game and adventurous about learning some steps, so apart from some very sore arms/knees/backs/necks/abs, the learning part isn't too difficult.

Now about the damned skin problem. Pending a second opinion this week.

Sigh. Everything comes on all at the same time.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

It's been a long time since I wrote down actual LISTS of things to do, but that's what's happening now. Weekends are completely packed, with 3 huge things happening at almost the same time. I'm just glad this is happening during the NS period - I'd just have done away with everything if I were still in hospital now.

We went scouting with my parents for faucets etc for the new place, and got nowhere near deciding. The first stop was this AWFUL place called Viva Nueva kitchen & bathroom gallery at Balestier Rd, which was recommended by a family friend in the construction business. It was pretty ok, and we had more or less decided on which fittings to purchase, when one of the staff told me I'm not allowed to take pictures. Hello, woman, I'm like buying the set already. And all the previous toilet fitting places allowed me to take all the pictures I wanted. You're selling toilet accessories, not some top-secret classified material worthy of 007's attention. It smacked of pettiness, overpricing (good retailers with competitive pricings wouldn't care less if you took pictures of even their pricelist) and overall poor service, so I cancelled the entire order and walked out. On the other hand, the other shop we went into had a different range and an oh-so-different attitude. I'd been there before, and took several reference PHOTOGRAPHS, and even now the lady went out of her way to measure various fittings for me.

In contrast to the absolutely shameful service at that Viva Nueva place, we had another happy experience yesterday at Golden River Shoes at Katong Shopping Centre. The proprietor's son was absolutely helpful during our search, and was all smiles throughout. We went home with a latin practice shoe for me, and a customised order for Yx. Crap ... the expenses this month. =(
