OMG, day 3 barely started and I'm beat! Not from the long days (ok, partly), but more of the awful 4-hour ward rounds. Got a really nice team though, with a bunch of chirpy, helpful and friendly HOs. Still upset that my plugs don't go in. Also watched a most traumatic catheterisation yesterday as well, and the guy I was trying to cath 2 days ago had BPH so I got stuck halfway through. =\ Discovered that nice people with DM are some of the best to practice plugs on =) Not trying to be evil, but it's true. It's nice when they don't feel that much pain, and I feel so much better about poking things into them. Really, what anaesthetists do should be THE gold standard in plug-setting. Just one TINY prick of local anaesthetic, and we're good to go. We don't use 16G needles, that's true, but whatever happened to primum non nocere? The guilt engulfs me everytime a plug fails. =(
